Gram's Birthday/Pt Mugu Beach

Gram and Pop came to visit this past weekend and it was Gram's birthday on Monday. Mommy and I made cupcakes for the celebration. I had fun adding all sorts of different sprinkles to the batter, in the cups and on the tops. They were quite delicious if I do say so myself.

This morning the family went to the beach at Point Mugu. The scenery is beautiful and the beach is dog-friendly which is an added bonus. It was overcast but the fog working its way through the hills and coast was quite picturesque. We even spotted some seals peeking their heads out of the water, watching us. They must have been curious about all the loud squealing I was doing while I was wading in the surf.

My First Haircut

I got my hair cut tonight for the very first time. I have been able to stay away from the salon because my curls hid a lot of different lengths of hair. Mommy decided it was finally time. I watched daddy get his hair cut this morning but was still a bit apprehensive. By the time I got into the chair and put on my special leopard print smock, I did pretty well. I quietly watched my stylist and stayed very still!

Banana Bread

Mommy and I made banana bread this morning. After it was in the oven I decided to get every ounce of applesauce left in the container. Needless to say, it ended up all over my clothes and in my hair. It was well worth it.

Vegas, Baby

We had a great time in Vegas, I was exhausted! I did a lot of swimming, playing with Gram, Pop and Laurye and did some sightseeing. One day we went to Circus-Circus. It's a hotel with a huge area of games and rides, it's a carnival inside a big dome. I got a butterfly painted on my cheek and saw a 4-D show. I also saw some nighttime fountain and light shows with daddy and Pop. We all had a wonderful and relaxing visit!

July 4th/Swimming Lessons

We've had an exciting couple of days celebrating the 4th of July and I started the next level in swimming lessons today.

For the 4th we had a cookout and enjoyed our back porch and the beautiful weather. Later that night you may notice I have my winter jacket on... it was cold by the water by the time the fireworks started. I hid my face for the first half of the show but then really enjoyed the rest.

I started the Preschool class at the pool today. I'm working with an instructor and mommy doesn't come in the water with me. It took me a moment to warm to the idea but really enjoyed myself!
