Just Another Day

Some of you may have heard about the earthquake in California today. This was the first I recall but have been told there have been a couple throughout my short life. These are ones which happened while I was sound asleep. Today, we were at the Children's Museum. We had just finished up our storytime and crafts. Mommy was paying for a membership and I was enjoying some crackers, sitting on the counter. The jostling back and forth didn't really phase me and I went on eating. It was way past snack time so I couldn't be bothered. It'll take at least a 6.0 magnitude quake to tear me away from my Goldfish.

Balloon Launch

At long last, I'm back to my blog. We've had an eventful two months living like gypsies, finding shelter wherever we could. Our extreme thanks go to Jon Holder for letting us use his house while he's in Iraq. Special thanks also to the Residence Inn and La Quinta, both of which welcomed not only us but Max as well. One hotel we had to sneak him in like a stowaway... we won't mention that particular location.

Now that we're in our new house we couldn't be more thrilled. Mommy loves decorating to make it feel more homey and daddy has the garage looking like an HGTV makeover program. I'm finally getting used to my new room and have even started taking my nap without my binky... not by my choosing but I'm dealing with it nonetheless.

We've had Gram, Pop and Auntie L over already. They were all such a help in watching me while mommy and daddy got things organized. I even stayed with Gram and Pop at a hotel for two nights. I did great and had such fun!

This morning we went to a balloon launch. I LOVE balloons and can spot them from miles away. The balloons were lifting off all around us so we had to chase some of them in the truck. One even landed in a strawberry field, I'm not sure that was a planned stop. It was pretty early and I hadn't had a full breakfast so the event lost my interest sooner than anyone expected. If nothing else, it gave mommy a chance to try out her new camera which she was thrilled about.
