Evening Bikeride

I've been scooting around on my bike for a year but have just started actually using the peddles and steering. Mommy and I have been practicing on our deck during the day but I wanted to show off my fine tuned skills to daddy. We went around the block TWICE. I never got off my bike and stayed on course... for the most part.

Vegas Highlights

We just spent some time with Gram and Pop in Las Vegas. I have more pictures than I know what to do with but here are some of the highlights. Mommy, Daddy and I went for a gondola ride through the canals at the Venetian Hotel, which is where we stayed. I met my great aunt Betty for the first time. She was in town for a few days and we were able to catch up with her at her hotel. I was a little shy but very excited to meet her. While we were downtown we saw the amazing light show on the four block canopy screen covering Freemont Street. Something I highly suggest if you're ever there. We also saw some light shows at The Wynn and the fountains at The Bellagio. We were all pleased to see that our hotel had a kiddie pool of just 1'2". I was quick to make some friends and it was a perfect way to play the day away with my family.

Busy Week

We had Vacation Bible School at our church this week. I was able to join in with the preschool class and had a blast! I learned three songs I performed in front of the church Friday night. The first two went well and I cried through the third. A little boy had taken my spot on stage beside my best friend Phoebe so I was, understandably, quite upset.

Then, this morning mommy ran in her first 10K. She is happy to report that she ran the entire way and finished in 1 hour and 16 minutes. She's feeling good today, we'll see about those legs tomorrow.

Latest Project

I've been helping to install a closet organizer for mommy and daddy. I enjoy a 'hand's on' approach so am always very eager to jump in the middle of things. They have been patient during my learning curve on painting, hammering and being an all around contruction assistant to daddy. The end project turned out great, mommy says it's time for some new clothes to fill the extra space!

Nashville Fun

We spent last week in Nashville and had a great time. While we were there it was Laurye's birthday so I made her cupcakes to celebrate. I was on a sugar high for hours. We did some shopping, fed the geese at a nearby pond, played hide and seek and did some crafts. Pop and I fed and tried to keep track of all the birds and small animals in the back yard. I loved seeing Cardinals for the first time. I topped off the week with a tea party with Gram. I wore my new cowgirl hat and we set a fancy table. Tea (Koolaid) and cookies never tasted better!

Surprise for Mommy

Daddy surprised mommy with a trip up to Santa Barbara to celebrate their 10th anniversary. They had a wonderful time relaxing at the pool, along with a local mallard, and enjoyed the terrace off their ocean front room. They did all sorts of fun things around town, mommy says the whole area is so picturesque. I had my own fun while they were gone, I got to have some great girly fun with Laurye.

New Friends

We visited the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park with some new friends this week. Daddy became good friends with a man named Mike during his deployment. Our family stayed with them and I got to know their girls, Julia and Emma. We all became fast friends! Their mommy, Christine, also came but their brother had to go to school that day. I couldn't stop talking about Julia on our way home and can't wait to play with her again.

Countdown to Daddy

We've started the official countdown to the day daddy returns. Mommy and I made this lovely sign out on the back porch this afternoon. The puffy stickers were especially exciting because I picked them out myself. I have numbers ready to put up every day when we wake up. Don't get too excited, despite what the picture shows, it's definitely more than one day.
