Latest Project

I've been helping to install a closet organizer for mommy and daddy. I enjoy a 'hand's on' approach so am always very eager to jump in the middle of things. They have been patient during my learning curve on painting, hammering and being an all around contruction assistant to daddy. The end project turned out great, mommy says it's time for some new clothes to fill the extra space!

Nashville Fun

We spent last week in Nashville and had a great time. While we were there it was Laurye's birthday so I made her cupcakes to celebrate. I was on a sugar high for hours. We did some shopping, fed the geese at a nearby pond, played hide and seek and did some crafts. Pop and I fed and tried to keep track of all the birds and small animals in the back yard. I loved seeing Cardinals for the first time. I topped off the week with a tea party with Gram. I wore my new cowgirl hat and we set a fancy table. Tea (Koolaid) and cookies never tasted better!

Surprise for Mommy

Daddy surprised mommy with a trip up to Santa Barbara to celebrate their 10th anniversary. They had a wonderful time relaxing at the pool, along with a local mallard, and enjoyed the terrace off their ocean front room. They did all sorts of fun things around town, mommy says the whole area is so picturesque. I had my own fun while they were gone, I got to have some great girly fun with Laurye.

New Friends

We visited the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park with some new friends this week. Daddy became good friends with a man named Mike during his deployment. Our family stayed with them and I got to know their girls, Julia and Emma. We all became fast friends! Their mommy, Christine, also came but their brother had to go to school that day. I couldn't stop talking about Julia on our way home and can't wait to play with her again.

Countdown to Daddy

We've started the official countdown to the day daddy returns. Mommy and I made this lovely sign out on the back porch this afternoon. The puffy stickers were especially exciting because I picked them out myself. I have numbers ready to put up every day when we wake up. Don't get too excited, despite what the picture shows, it's definitely more than one day.

10 Years Later

Mommy and Daddy had their 10 year anniversary today. This was a picture of them on their honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico. Mommy is convinced that she hasn't aged a day, I am happy to agree with her. The flowers are ones that daddy sent to celebrate their day. He is always so thoughtful! We had fun arranging them and enjoying the wonderful scent in the air.

Rain, Rain Go Away

You may have heard about all the rain we've been getting. We're now on our fourth storm in as many days. The clouds parted and the sun peeked through enough yesterday to produce a beautiful rainbow. It was a full arch but we could only get this much in the frame. It was an unexpected treat amongst all the dreary weather. Needless to say, it lasted five minutes, the clouds filled in and it started raining again!

First Beach Day 2010

As a southern California girl, I must always be ready for a trip to the beach. I recently got a new suit, cover-up and hat so I was so excited to try them out. The weather was beautiful today so we made our way to the beach. It was as fun as I remembered!

Happy Birthday Max!

Mommy and I threw Max a birthday party today, he turned 10! I included a picture of him when he was just a puppy. It's obvious why that face was hard to resist, despite his naughty puppy ways!

During his party he kept his hat on long enough for a picture and we put a candle in his bone before we sang to him. I had to take care of blowing that out. I picked out all his gifts and he is so excited about all of them. You can see his big smile in the last picture before digging into his rawhide bone.

Happy Birthday 'Brother'!!
